We had an unforgettable time at Helios Apartments in Makry Gialos. The stunning sea view from the elevated location is simply breathtaking. Despite the uphill walk, the secluded beaches nearby are a hidden gem. The warm hospitality of Nikos and his family made us feel like part of their own. They went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met and provided excellent recommendations. The pool area was peaceful and relaxing. The comfortable beds, well-equipped amenities, and quiet location added to the overall charm of our stay. We even received a lovely welcome gift of fruits and local Raki. We highly recommend this place for a truly exceptional experience in Crete.

I had a fantastic stay at Helios apartments. the hosts were welcoming and attentive, making sure that we had everything we needed. the apartment itself was spacious and had amazing views from our corner room. the facilities in the room were sufficient, providing us with everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The location was also great, with a sandy beach and shops and restaurants just a short walk away. Cons: Not obvious to find 😕.

the place was new and close to the beach. welcoming staff made me feel welcome. the location was excellent and lovely, approximately 10 mins walk from bus stop.

Rooms were very small.

The owners are incredibly kind & great, treating us like family. The rooms are spotlessly clean with an amazing view. The pool is peaceful & very clean. The beach is lovely & sandy, and the hospitality of the hosts is excellent. The studio is fantastic value & airy, with beautiful views. The hosts are kind & friendly, providing complimentary gifts & giving perfect recommendations. The location is great for visiting Sitia area and unspoiled beaches. I would definitely recommend staying here.

our recent stay in Makry Gialos was amazing! Helios exceeded our expectations in every way. Thespara and Manolis were incredibly friendly and welcoming, even inviting us for Raki in their garden. The apartment was fully equipped, clean, and the bed was comfy. The location was perfect, with great restaurants and the beach just a short walk away.

Some amenities in the kitchenette were insufficient, such as the missing sponge and cutting board, which made cooking a bit challenging.

The air-conditioned units at Helios Studios & Apartments are perfect for a relaxing stay. I loved having a kitchenette with all the essentials, like cooking hobs, a fridge, and a coffee maker. It made me feel right at home. The balcony in my air-conditioned studio was such a delight! I could sit there and enjoy the stunning view of the Libyan Sea. It was the perfect spot to start my mornings with a cup of coffee. The private bathroom in each unit was a definite plus. The shower was refreshing, and it provided the privacy I needed during my stay. The air-conditioned apartment was a great choice for my group. With 2 separate bedrooms, it offered plenty of space and comfort for everyone. The soundproofing in this apartment was a game-changer. I could relax and enjoy my stay without being disturbed by any outside noise. The sea view from the studio was absolutely breathtaking! I loved waking up to such a beautiful sight every day. The balcony was a perfect spot to unwind and soak in the surroundings.

Personally, I found the seating area in some units a bit uncomfortable. However, others might still find it cozy and enjoyable.

The swimming pool was a big plus! It was clean, well-maintained, and hardly ever crowded. The location was convenient, with great restaurants just a 5-minute walk away and the harbor a short 15-minute walk. However, be aware that the road is uphill and can be dark at night, so it may not be ideal for older people. The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and accommodating.

Finding the hotel was a bit of a challenge as there were few signs indicating its location. there was no breakfast available, so make sure to plan accordingly.

Fantastic hosts, left us to enjoy. Great size room, corner view. Just enough facilities.
